Kanapa™ skincare contains more active ingredients (per volume of product) than many of the big-name skincare brands. Our range contains a large number of active ingredients at a much higher concentration than in most rival products. At least 50% of every single Kanapa™ product is comprised of active ingredients.
The Truth About Parabens
In the past five years, cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies have jumped aboard the anti-paraben and anti-sulfate train. We’ve been told they’re bad, but what are they exactly, and why are they used?
Parabens are preservatives, or chemicals, widely used in personal care products since the 1950s to prevent bacteria and stop fungus and other microbes growing in products you use daily - shampoos, deodorants, lipsticks, and lotions, to name a few. As ingredients, they tend to have the word ‘paraben’ in them: methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben and isobutylparaben.
Over the past few years, scientists and cosmetic manufacturers have debated whether or not these chemicals actually have a negative effect on your health.
Studies have shown that some parabens can mimic the activity of estrogen in the body’s cells. In 2004, a study published in the Journal of Applied Toxicology linked parabens to breast cancer (Concentrations of Parabens in Human Breast Tumours by Darbre et al.) however no claim was made parabens had actually caused breast cancers.
So far there is no scientific evidence that parabens are linked to cancer, but at Xtendlife we take the view it’s better to be safe than sorry, that’s why none of our skincare products contain parabens, harmful chemicals, or any ingredient with a question mark over its head.
Parabens have also been shown to promote aging of the skin, halting the process of cell renewal, whereas natural and organic ingredients actually work in harmony with your skin’s natural processes. Natural ingredients address the root cause of your skin issues to promote repair and rejuvenation at a cellular level.
Synthetic ingredients can create a dependency on the product and disrupt the skin’s own hydrating and regenerating processes, and in some cases cause dryness and irritation if you stop using them.
Kanapa™ products do not contain parabens or any ingredient that has a question mark over its safety.
Our products are also scientifically formulated, so each ingredient works in synergy with the others to enhance their effectiveness in improving the health of the skin.
While it’s not possible for every ingredient in our skincare range to be 100% natural in the sense that they have not been processed in any way, most of our ingredients are derived from plants. They are naturally processed to enhance their effectiveness.
Kanapa™ products contain nourishing natural and organic ingredients that support your skin’s own rejuvenating processes. A clinical study with products containing Xtendlife’s exclusive Kanapa™ blend showed a decrease of up to 34% in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in as little as six weeks.
Our skincare contains a much higher concentration of active ingredients than chemically based products and these ingredients promote lasting changes in your skin.
